I am trained to offer both Integrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I am comfortable working in both modalities so I can offer an Integrative approach or purely Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approach depending on individual preference or need.
I believe that there are commonalities between us all, and at the same time, we are all essentially unique. I take a holistic approach in that I am interested in the inter-relationship between mind, body, and spirit and favour an approach that looks at the whole person. I do not take the view that one-size fits all and create a tailor-made therapy plan to best suit the needs and goals of the person I am working with. The aim of integrative psychotherapy is to facilitate wholeness and as an integrative therapist I use different therapy approaches from different therapy models.
The main theoretical approaches I integrate are humanistic, psychodynamic, relational, and cognitive behavioural therapy. The nature of the issues you bring and how you process emotions and other information offer indications on whether a more cognitive behavioural, humanistic, or a more psychodynamic approach is warranted or, as is often the case, a combination of the three as different challenges require a more fluid and flexible approach.
